Display Size: 30 or 27 or 24 Inch?
Physical size and resolution varies with the NEC PA-series displays:
- The 30" PA302W offers 2560 X 1600 resolution (aspect ratio 16:10). Because it is also slightly wider than the 27-inch model, it is slightly easier on the eyes (lower pixel density = slightly larger text).
- The 27" PA272W is two inches less wide, and offers a resolution of 2560 X 1440. Because its pixel density is slightly higher than the 30-inch model, some users might prefer the 30 inch model as slightly easier on the eyes (size of text). And the extra 160 vertical pixels are welcome over a long workday.
- The 24" PA242W is even smaller, and with a notably lower resolution of 1920 X 1280. Some people prefer this size.
The 30/27 difference is immediately noticeable when viewing standard DSLR images, which have an aspect ratio of 3:2: the screen feels a bit truncated vertically when using a 27" display if one is used to a full 30" display (but most users will find a 27" display quite large and pleasant).
The 24-inch option is good for a 2nd display (perhaps vertical) and/or for those with space limitations.
