Leica M10 White Balance and Tint in Photoshop/ACR
Many thanks to the folks at PopFlash.Photo for the Leica M10 on loan (very short supply, very difficult to get). PopFlash.photo offers many accessories for Leica M and other brands, such as the Thumbs Up EP-MX for Leica M10 and the Leica Visoflex (Type 020) EVF.
Nailing down a baseline white balance and tint is in my experience 90% of the solution for making images look good. If the tint is off, things quickly look awful (green or magenta casts are rarely pleasing). I like to do so before I start processing significant numbers of images; as it turns out, yesterday’s images usd too much magenta!
So I’ve nailed down the parameters for readers of diglloyd Leica. It may save Leica M10 shooters some time and trouble. Ialso discuss how to go about this evaluation for yourself, step by step. See a similar evaluation for the Leica M240 done back in 2013.

As with the M240 and many if not all cameras, the tint required for neutrality with the M10 varies with brightness—dark areas tend to go bluish, and in general the grayscale is not entirely linear.
My preferred color checker card as shown below is the Datacolor SpyderCHECKR Color Calibration Tool for Digital Cameras. It is the two columns of grayscale patches I am after; the color patches can be used for more involved calibration, but I rarely do so.
