Pentax K3 II: Evaluating SuperResolution Pixel Shift Mode vs StdRes with Color and Texture
See my Pentax K1 wish list at B&H Photo.
See also my in-depth review of the Sigma 35/1.4 DG HSM Art, used for this study.
This evaluation pits the Pentax K3 II SuperResolution pixel shift mode against its standard conventional resolution Bayer recording. SuperRes mode in discussed in more detail in the overview of the Pentax K1.
The subject here is the flat side of a storage box wrapped in a wallpaper-like paper that has textural and color detail, along with varying combinations of colors in places that can be a challenge to render with a Bayer matrix sensor, which is why it was chosen for a test.
I thought that this kind of subject matter might be of particular interest to product or studio shooters who work with fabrics and such.
