Leica SL Typ 601: Lacks EFC Shutter
See my Leica SL wish list at B&H Photo.
Buried in my editorial about the Leica SL and confirmed by Leica is this: the Leica SL lacks an electronic first curtain shutter (EFC shutter). In other words, there is no vibration-free exposure mode.
Note that the Leica M240 shutter vibration damages damages sharpness at 90mm on up. The M240 damaged every photo I took at 280mm at 1/125 and slower, with varying degrees of sharpness loss down to 90mm focals (with lens adapter in particular).
The Leica SL is likely to have a better damped shutter (perhaps a lot better), but in my view a camera lacking an EFC shutter is unacceptable. At more than twice the price of Canon or Nikon (with 2/3 or 1/2 the resolution, respectively), I deem it a dubious investment.
