Compared: Leica 21/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH vs Leica 21/3.4 Super-Elmar-M ASPH (Ashford Mill Ruins)
Just published in my Guide to Leica is a fourth comparison of the Leica 21/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH vs the Leica 21/3.4 Super-Elmar-M ASPH.
This concludes my comparative analysis of these two 21mm lenses on the Leica M9. I think the results will be very helpful to anyone looking for a 21mm “M” lens.
It’s striking how poorly built nearly every structure is (was? most have fallen down!) in Death Valley and surrounding areas; such structures went up hastily for mining purposes (gold milling in this case). These walls are what remains of Ashford Mill, about 25 miles south of Badwater in Death Valley National Park.
