Fuji X100 Focusing Note

In your review of the X100 you spoke of a frustration with knowing how to control accurate, absolute focus. I too had the same problem til I ran into an explanation which explained it.
Therefore, in case you or your readers haven't tripped over this helpful explanation, in my own words:
First, one can only control the size of the focus area in EVF & LCD mode ONLY.
Second, to control the size of the area of focus: hold down the AF button on the left rear of the camera and by swinging the "Command Control" button on the upper right of the rear of the camera to the right or left, one can enlarge the focus area or make it smaller.
Once having understood this, I have now been able to nail the focus wherever I desire even on nothing more than a small logo on a 1/2 inch wide, cloth neck strap from 8 inches away.
Hope this helps.
P.S. I've learned and used maybe thirty different cameras over 40 years. But this little jewel has taken me two months to almost understand 'most' of the control nuances. Shouldn't have been that difficult but at least, for the most part -- they exist.
So far, the only thing I really wish I could change is the ability to hit the trash icon and have it read "Single" or "All" pictures thereby keeping me out of the menu system.
DIGLLOYD: as lovely as the X100 is, one wonders if the designers were forced by non-photographer engineers to put in really Dumb Stuff.
I am really happy with the X100. It has many limitations, but the compact size and very high image quality make it worth it. And it feels like a real camera. This is the camera Leica should have made for M lenses.
