Western Mountaineering Flash XR Down Jacket — Warm and Rain Resistant
I wrote about the Western Mountaineering Flash jacket last fall— fantastic.
The Flash XR down jacket is highly water resistant, a theory I tested in the heavy rain yesterday. Water rolls off; shake yourself and droplets go flying. I'm suspect it would have issues with extended exposure, but it’s just incredible to stand in heavy rain with the hood up, and feel a luxurious down jacket shrugging off the droplets. Warm, and so comfortable you’ll hardly know you’re wearing it.
This jacket can make those outdoor photographic experiences far more enjoyable.
And it’s also satisfying to support a company like Western Mountaineering— they know what they’re doing, their quality is first rate, and they’ve been doing it for a long time.
I doubt there is a better down jacket on the market today, so I heartily recommend the Western Mountaineering Flash XR down jacket. It’s hard to track down, so see the Western Mountaineering web site. I got mine at Bentgate Mountaineering.
